Uitgeverij Podium, opgericht in 1997, is een jaarlijks groeiende, onafhankelijke algemeen-literaire uitgeverij. Tot onze auteurs behoren Michel Faber, Ronald Giphart, Tjitske Jansen, Nicolaas Klei, Kluun, Antjie Krog, Joris Luyendijk en DBC Pierre.

De Geus was in Nederland de eerste uitgeverij die een scherp oog ontwikkelde voor literair talent in de moderne multiculturele samenleving. Midden jaren tachtig gaf De Geus werk uit van de Turkse Nederlander Halil Gür. Later volgden onder meer de succesvolle debuten van Kader Abdolah (De adelaars, 1993), Yasmine Allas (Idil, een meisje, 1998), Vamba Sherif (Het land van de vaders, 1998), Veronica Toumanova (Ster, sterveling, 2002).
