I am a pro-life, basically pacifistic, ecumenical Christian. Before becoming a Christian, for several years I was an agnostic. I respect persons of all religious beliefs. For a few years I've been on a vegan diet, trying to avoid eating all meat and dairy products. I'm confident a well-balanced, nutritious, vegan diet is healthier for humans -- and better for the health of the animals that would otherwise be on the menu, too! I am registered as an Independent voter. Generally I am a conservative on moral and fiscal issues, while I am a liberal on most environmental and social issues. But, I enjoy discussing current events with persons of all views. Among other things, in my spare time I enjoy reading, writing, attending seminars and lectures, discussing current events, nature hikes, bicycling, and visiting museums. As a child I enjoyed playing board games and card games and still do when time permits. I am not an avid sports fan, but I do follow college basketball, which some say is almost a religion here in Kentucky. Though I hold an MBA and two other college degrees, I am not a very materialistic person. Acquiring a lot of money and material wealth is not a big priority for me. In college my undergraduate electives included several English courses and my graduate work included some Communications courses. I am happy being single. If God leads me to the right person, at the right time, in the right way, I desire to be receptive to the possibility of marriage. But I do not want to rush into it. Singleness seems to be God's will for me at least for the present, and maybe for my entire life. I believe persons are happier and healthier if we seek to be friendly to everyone and to develop the closest friendships with persons with whom we share common interests, beliefs, morals, etc., rather than letting emotional attractions lead persons into a too close relationship with a person who is different in many respects.
