This is the site for the plant family Cucurbitaceae and the home of The Cucurbit Network (TCN), an organization dedicated to promoting conservation, and understanding of the Cucurbitaceae through education and research. TCN publishes the newsletter, The Cucurbit Network News, twice a year in the spring and fall for its members. The Web site supplements the newsletter by providing recent news and a calendar of events, as well as background information on species of Cucurbitaceae regarding their taxonomy and systematics, ethnobotany, archaeology, breeding, genetics, horticulture, arts and crafts, philately, literature, and even an occasional joke. TCN is also host of the Pumpkinseed Web site, which provides information on pumpkin seed oil and seedsnacks.
