Life across America 2010 Complete Larry Frederick, blood donation recipient and long-time advocate, recently completed Life across America 2010, a summer-long initiative aimed at raising awareness of the need for blood donation. In Phase I of Life across America, Larry and his daughter Adella bicycled across the country, from California to New Hampshire. During this trip, they biked for 52 days covering a total of 3,847 miles. Larry and Adella also visited nine blood centers on the trip, sharing Larry’s story, encouraging the community to donate and thanking those who already do. After the completion of Phase I at the end of July, Larry quickly launched into Phase II of the campaign. During this portion of Life across America, Larry drove back to the west coast, stopping at 40 community blood center locations. Throughout these visits with participating blood centers, Larry met with staff, community representatives, donors, recipients and law enforcement office
