The Carolyn Mawby Chorale was founded in 1987 by alumni of the University of Michigan - Flint Chamber Singers and grew rapidly to its present membership of forty-six singers establishing its own concert schedule. The Chorale sings a varied repertoire of music from Renaissance through twentieth century. Their annual Christmas Concert has become one of the most popular musical events of the Greater Flint Area concert season. With the generous patronage of Mr. William H. Piper, the Chorale sponsors a Festival of Flint Choirs each January, featuring area high school and church choirs, with nationally known guest conductors.
