YMCA of San Diego County Holiday Toy Drive 2010 Deeply rooted in your community, our movement is made up of people of all ages and from every walk of life, all working side-by-side to ensure that everyone, regardless of gender, income or background, has the opportunity to live life to its fullest. That’s never more apparent than during the holidays when we ask for your generous donation of an unwrapped gift or toy for a child, infant through age 17 during the YMCA of San Diego County Holiday Toy Drive. These toys benefit more than 5,000 kids from the Border View, Copley, and Jackie Robinson Family YMC As, our lowest income communities in San Diego County. In addition, we assist YMCA OZ Shelters and many other Y branches in providing families in need with toys and gifts for their children. We value caring, honesty, respect and responsibility, and everything we do stems from this. The holiday season can be difficult for many of our parents, their children and our program participants. Often the gift that comes from our toy drive is the only one many of these kids will receive. Our nearly 4,000 staff and more than 5,000 volunteers are kids, parents, grandparents, neighbors and local leaders who are personally committed to understanding what our neighborhoods need. The holiday season is a time for giving.
