That light now illuminates a state-of-the-art center of care, ever expanding to meet the changing needs of this region. Avera St. Luke's Hospital is the pioneer facility of Avera Health. Established in 1901 in Aberdeen, South Dakota as a 15-bed hospital, we have now grown to a regional medical center that offers a comprehensive array of medical and health services to people living in the surrounding 10 counties around Aberdeen. In addition to the 139-bed hospital, the center also provides long-term care services through Avera Mother Joseph Manor Retirement Community, as well as primary and specialty medical services through our clinic division.
